The autobrief toggle will prevent long descriptions from being visible
when you first walk into a room.  You'll have to look again to see them
after entering the room.

This feature is primarily to assist those with screen readers and allow
them to more quickly see if they're in trouble after entering a room.

To never display room descriptions, use the 'brief' command.
