Syntax:
points                           - show your current point totals
points value <spell/skill name>  - show how many points a spell/skill costs
points buy <spell/skill name>    - improve a spell or skill using points

Profession points are points that you occasionally get from gathering
resources and crafting. Anything from brewing potions to fishing to
forging metal may gain you profession points.

You can use profession points to improve crafting-related spells or skills
using the 'points value' and 'points buy' commands.

Each time you improve, it raises the skill by at least 1%.  You can raise
skills to 'perfect' this way, which you can't do by using practices at a
trainer.

To help aleviate the practice burden of learning the various crafting skills,
improving skills with profession points can give more than a 1% skill boost.
This is a lot more generous when you don't know the skill that well, and
gradually returns back to the usual 1% when you are very good at the skill.

Some crafting and enchantment skills use profession points to improve items.
