The 'shellcraft' skill allows you to skin the corpses of giant insects,
molluscs and similar animals to get shells. Shells can be crafted like
hides and skins.

Shellcrafted objects make more protective armor than their leathercrafted
equivalents.  Flexible objects, such as slings and whips, cannot be made
from shell.

This skill also lets you craft weapon grips from certain types of antlers,
horns, ivory and tusks.
