Usage:
cast fire shield
cast ice shield
cast ground

These three spells provide protection against various types of attacks.

'Fire shield' provides protection from cold and cold spells.
'Ice shield' provides protection from heat and fire spells.
'Ground' provides protection against electricity.

While alone these spells may not seem very formidable, the combination of their
effects with that of other protective equipment can make a character virtually
immune to specific damage classes. These spells cannot normally be cast on
other characters.

Fire shield and ice shield also have a secondary effect: fire shield does a
small amount of fire damage to melee attackers, and ice shield does a small
amount of ice damage to melee attackers. Fire shield can also help prevent
hypothermic effects such as from chill touch, and ice shield can help
prevent you from catching on fire.

In addition to decreasing electrical damage, ground counters and dispels
the clinging energies of the 'static blast' spell. Ground will also
ward off lightning produced by a 'chain lightning' spell, making it less
likely to strike.
