You will commonly hear about times being referred to as a number of
'ticks' while playing here at Alter Aeon.  Ticks take about 30 seconds,
and every tick things happen such as regeneration of your character,
spells expiring, and areas repopping.

Note that every tick represents about 10 minutes of game time, even though
it only takes 30 seconds of real time.  That's why the time on your spells
ticks down by 10 minutes every tick.

The typical time it takes for an area to reset varies anywhere from 10 to
1000 ticks, which means it can take anywhere from a couple of minutes to
several days for an area to repop.  The spell sanctuary lasts for about 6
ticks, and spells like brawn last for about 40 ticks.
