penned by the Peerless Lady Nora of the Elwood
KNIGHT COMMANDER OF THE ORDER OF THE NYMPH
PALADIN OF DOWART
PATRONESS OF RITTERHOLM
AFFILIATE OF THE CONSORTIUM
DEFENDER OF THE RITTERMARK
copied under the direction of Her Ladyship by Sir Flygee Leafeater
The Giftsmarch is filled with all sorts of poisonous and toxic plants, but
this is compendium is limited to those plants that will aggressively seek
out and attack humanoids.
AMBER JELLY: This creature consists of little more than several thick,
translucent sacs of tough fibers surrounding an inner core of pseudo-organs
suspended in a yellowish fluid. The whole creature is an ugly shade of
yellow and stinks like tannin. Its organelles contain a nutritious liquid
that can heal humanoids.
BLACKSPORE SWARM: It resembles a roiling cloud of black vapor, though its
actually composed of millions of tiny black motes. The spores of this
insidious mold seek out living creatures as a place to germinate. Although
these spores carry a foul stench, they are useful herbs for brewing.
CARNISHROOM: A large mushroom, with strange red patterns across its cap.
When its caps split open, several rows of blood-stained teeth are revealed.
Its stalk can stretch to nearly three times its normal height, granting it
exceptional reach.
DEATH FUNGUS: A giant mass of rubbery fungus, this massive mushroom is as
large as a small tree. Its foot-stick stalk is a sickly white in color.
The massive vase shaped cap is dark grey. The underside of the cap is
lined with many pores used to distribute spores. Some of these spores can
be used for brewing potions.
GREATER SMOOTHCAP: A huge brown mushroom stands taller than a man. It has
thick leathery skin. Its gills are a deep purple in color, and it leaks
blue spores when cut or bruised. The cap sways on the end of its stalk,
allowing it to be used like a massive fleshy hammer. Its spores can be
used as spell components while fresh but become useless after drying out.
SCARLET SLIME: This slime appears as ropes of red goo which hang over the
trunks of mushrooms, draped across the branches of stunted trees and strewn
upon the ground. The substance has a thick odor almost like fresh meat.
The slime produces spores that can be used as spell components.
SPOREBAT: This oddly wrought mushroom has a greatly enlarged cap and a
thin, flat stalk. A fibrous membrane expands out from the stalk to the
edges of the underside of the cap. It flaps this membrane in order to fly.
Its spores are useful spell components for creating potions of crystal coat.
