Title: a book entitled, 'The Enchanted Gauntlets of Working'
The Enchanted Gauntlets of Working
Among the most famous of magical devices are weapons designed for the
greatest of warriors and powerful artifacts that increase the noeses of
spellcasters. Yet there is one that stands apart from the rest, neither
intended for war nor wizardry, and that is a pair of unassuming cloth
gloves known as the Enchanted Gauntlets of Working.
The gauntlets were created by a famous artificer of Khal-moria named
Gilneer the Great. Gilneer was a mage of great power and stature who
deigned to design many different magical artifacts. His handiwork was
always hampered by his inability to create base non-magical items of
sufficient quality to be worthy of such artifice. Rather than rely on the
workmanship of another, Gilneer created the gauntlets in order to overcome
this handicap.
Whoever wears the Enchanted Gauntlets of Working gains increased ability
for any craft, chore or physical labor, but not casting spells or combat.
A blacksmith can create the finest tool, or a woodcutter hew the mightiest
of trees, or a miner root out the richest of mineral deposits while under
the effects of the gauntlets. Gilneer used the gauntlets to create all
sorts of armor and trinkets that he later enchanted.
The ultimate fate of the Enchanted Gauntlets of Working remains unknown,
but such mighty artifacts seldom stay hidden for long.
