The cover of this book shows a battle between An army of beautiful winged
beings and a single creature made completely from deep ebony smoke. The

The Realm of Thuoduhr: from Benevolence to malevolence
Written by Fraewyn Ralkerth
The Thuoduhrans have lived simply. Like any other race, Thuoduhrans had
misgivings and heated debates. However, it had never went far enough to
provoke violence or bloodshed. The council of Elders who govern each family
would meet, resolve the issue, and there it ended... Until the battle of
Ciralath.
One of the lords within the demon realms, Ciralath beheld, from a gazing
circle, part of the Thuoduhran realm. He saw their thriving people, he saw
their incredible magic, and he became, as most ambitious demon lords are,
jealous. The object of his attention, and the goal he had in mind, was to
capture the rune spire itself, a huge, crystalline obelisk at least fifty
feet tall, covered with numerous petroglyphs.
The rune spire was the heart and source of all magic in Thuoduhr. Even I do
not know how it was constructed, and the ancient Thuoduhran history only
mentions its construction briefly as a gift from Xandar, the god of nature.
It is moore commonly called the Heart of Thuoduhr (or the Gift) for that
reason.
It was heavily guarded in a massive edifice of white crystal in the center
of all Thuoduhr, the crystal warded heavily against all outsiders. It was
incredibly warded to the point where it can even kill a trespasser if they
ignore the warning wards or force through them. Only Thuoduhrans would be
able to pass. The demon lord intended to capture that crystalline Gift and
corrupt it to his will.
After gazing into Thuoduhr, Ciralath was able to open a gate to a realm
bordering Thuoduhr, which gets him closer to his goal. There, he amassed an
army of demons and sent them into the realm. The Thuoduhrans, content in
their magic, dispatched them easily. However, the job was done. Each demon
had a portion of Ciralath's will cast into it. Upon death, the demons
dematerialized into smoke, which, seemingly, evaporates into nothing.
But the truth is that now that Ciralath has gained partial spiritual
projection into Thuoduhr, he was able to scout it, and determine the
central obelisk's location. He continued his seemingly endless attacks,
while thinking of a plan to destroy the wards around the crystal fortress.
Eventually, he created the Night Mother, a creature of black, smoky skin.
Somehow, all runes that become in close proximity to that creature would
not work. Thus he was able to gain the fortress, after years and years of
planning.
