Amaranth - is the color of the flowers of the amaranth plant, which is a
solid red. Amaranth is an Aztec grain.
Auburn - is a variety of hair color, typically a reddish-brown.
Burgundy - is a dark red trending toward purple. Many varieties of red
wine are this color.
Cardinal - is the color of the bird of the same name.
Carmine - is a deep red color that is slightly purple.
Carnelian - is the color of a commonly mined stone said to have necromantic
properties.
Cerise - is a vivid dark pink. It is a common color for sand cherries.
Cinnabar - is the color of the ore of the same name. When smelted it
yields mercury, or quicksilver.
Coquelicot - is the red color of wild poppies.
Crimson - is a dark red color with a hint of purple.
Firebrick - is the color of typical clay bricks once they have been baked.
Flame - is the peculiar shade of red exhibited by calcium when burned.
Fuschia - is a vivid purplish red that is more purple than red. It is very
bright and distinct.
Magenta - is a color about halfway between red and purple.
Maroon - is the dark red color of ripe chestnuts.
Mahogany - is the reddish-brown color of the wood of the same name.
Mauve - is a pale pink color close to purple.
Pink - is a very light red.
Raspberry - is a glossy red color derived from the fruit of the same name.

Ruby - is the typical shade of red of the precious stone of the same name
after it has been cut and polished.
Rust - is a dark red that is close to brown. It is the typical color of
iron that has oxidized.
Scarlet - is a bright red with a tinge of orange.
Vermillion - is a shade of color that is about halfway between red and
orange.
