Title: a book titled 'Nocturne's Fate'

You turn to the last pages of the fifth and final book of the Nocturne
Saga.

Beneath, the full moon the sounds of merriment rang throughout the wood. A
double wedding was such a joy for all who gazed upon the happy couples.
Roxie danced with Kristoff, giggling as he spun her around and around the
dance floor. Nearby, a blond-haired child clapped his hands happily in the
arms of his nanny, watching his parents' dance.

Anne sat next to Conall, her head resting upon his shoulder as the
black-haired child suckled at her breast. Conall wrapped his arm his
beloved wife and child as a contented smile rested upon his lips before
speaking, "So much peril, so much adventure but finally our two peoples
shall have peace at last."

Anne looked up at Conall before answering, "I pray we need never speak
again of the horrors that befell Roxie and I at the hands of the Dragon
Emperor. So much death, blood, and pain. And yet, now we have each other,
and Conan will grow to know all the ways of the Coyote Canyon tribe."

Roxie and Kristoff walked up to the trio, flushed from dancing but joyful
with their son wrapped up once more in his mother's arms. Kristoff
grinned, with a teasing tone entering his voice, as he looked at the
tableau before him, "Undressing her already are we brother? Wait, my
mistake! Just another lad who adores Lady Anne as well."

Roxie gestured her head at her son, who was now falling asleep in her arms,
and shook her head at her husband before scolding him, "You cad. You are
simply jealous that you must share me with Kristopher. He won't let you
near me when he feeds, dear Count."

Kristoff smiled, "Perhaps after all our excitement in past few months, I am
always a bit jealous, my love. It is difficult to share you with anyone
after all our time apart especially since for a while you didn't even know
who I was. I am so grateful that the faeries were so willing to aid Conall
and I in our rescue efforts."

Roxie nodded before speaking once more to all her family, "Enough talk of
our past sagas. Let us celebrate our future. The nocturne ends soon, and
we will face the dawn together."

EPILOGUE

From the shadows, a pair of unseen eyes watched. They slowly blinked,
cat-like, and a slow grin spread over an invisible face. Only the vampire
felt a sudden stab of unease, but it only shuddered for a moment before
turning its attention back to the others. The contract's terms were now
fulfilled, and it would soon be time to collect the promised price.

With a whispering, metallic rasp like a pair of shears closing, the Demon
Lord Barbatorem slid between planes, back to the Deadworlds to plan anew.
