     Artifact Lore Volume III: The Heretic's Fire

The Heretic's Fire's name was earned by its creator, a sadistic warlock who
delited in murdering priests, paladins, and other devout followers of the
goodly gods. The artifact itself appears as a ring of ethereal fire wide
enough to fit around one's wrist. When worn, the fires expand to cover the
wielder's entire arm and weapon. The enchantment burns any who come near the
wielder, while the wielder is protected from the flames.
