Title: a book called 'The Fire Plane Invasion'

This book recounts the fire plane invasion of the Material Plane and
chronicles the results of that event.  It reads:

From the Temple of Zin, we performed our master's bidding and entered the
portal to the Ethereal Plane of Fire.  Normally a realm inaccessible to
mere mortals, Shadowfax provided divine protection that permitted us to
survive on the hostile plane.  After defeating hordes of aggressive native
creatures and demons, we discovered Pyrenius, the false fire god, hiding in
the aether.

We gave battle unto the demonlord, and after a colossal fight, he was
finally subdued.  Before us and our lord, he confessed that he was the
mastermind behind the mephits' invasion but claimed that it was part of a
plan to save the fire plane from destruction.  Dentin arrived at the scene
at that point and corroborated the demonlord's story, informing us the
source of the dilution infecting the fire plane was in fact originating
from the Northern Ocean.

We took leave of Dentin and then plunged into the ocean, encountering a
massive metal compound in the water's depths.  We stormed the compound,
defeating the strange, mechanical constructs that dwelt there.  Finally, we
found the being controlling the portal to the fire plane and managed to
destroy it.

Upon further investigation, I have discovered that the existance of the
steam creature that we destroyed while closing the portal to the fire plane
was a direct result of the planar event that took place about thirty years
prior.  When the Planar Knot tied the planes in their current positions,
some strife occured between planar borders as they settled in place.  As a
result, many such creatures like the Scalding Lord were born, but it was
unique because it had enough sentience to try and do something about its
predicament.  The purpose of the Unfathomable Bathysphere was its misguided
attempt to created a home dimension for itself by saturating a portion of
the Ethereal Plane of Fire with water.

With this understanding, Shadowfax has taken pity upon the creature and has
recalled its essence back from the aether.  It will be allowed to complete
the Unfathomable Bathysphere, but the machine will be relocated to a more
suitable location.  There it can experiment in the water's depths in a
manner that won't result in the destruction of the Northern Ocean.

Pyrenius and Shadowfax have had a reconciliation of sorts.  Even though
Pyrenius was wrong as to the reason why the fire plane was being polluted,
the Lord of Light recognized his selfless attempt to preserve the lives of
the denizens of that dimension.  The demonlord will be permitted to return
to the Material Plane, but he will be moving to a planet far away from this
one.  He is allowed to use proxies here to gather worshippers of his own,
but, as part of the deal, we're freely allowed to hunt down and eliminate
those followers.
