Title: a book titled 'The basics: The Mage'

This deep red leather bound book has ornate carvings scribed into
the front and backside.

Skimming through the book one finds that it is filled with various
information that every mage should know.

One section describes how the more damage one can do the quicker the
battle will be over. This in turn would mean less damage one would
take.

Another part describes that a smart mage will worry less about armor
and the like, instead choosing to use things that will increase
their casting level, their intelligence, wisdom, regeneration and
their overall mana instead.
