The great city-state of Q'thelas once ruled an Empire encompassing all the
lands from the Cornian Valley to the Isle of Q'Inag, from the Ash Mountains
to the Southern Ocean. In the Great Wars, their valiant warriors fought on
the side of Good. Then, betrayl and decadance weakened the Shining City, 
hastening its fall after a 15-year siege by the dragons Susami and A'maran
Dax. In a last ditch effort to save the city, they constructed a mighty
Machine,  a golem of great size they believed indestructible. However, the
city fell before it could be activated. Q'thelas crumbled for half a
millennia and was lost in wastes of the salt flats.
