Item description:

A long, straight staff of hardwood.  It looks to not have been carved from a
sapling.  The grain is odd, like the staff was cut out of the outside layers
of a much larger tree instead of the heartwood.  It is a sturdy, solid staff,
and not too heavy either.  Marks and scratches mar the ends and center, but
no serious damage has ever befallen it.
