Item description:

A short sword with a wide blade of just under eighteen inches in length
from ricasso to tip.   The edges of the gleaming steel blade exhibit a
cross diamond profile and the spine displays a shallow fuller that runs
from the guard to a point three inches short of the tip   The hilt is slim
and wrapped with wide strips of leather and the pommel flares out slightly
to a bulbous knot of black steel flattened at its base.   The end of the
pommel has a recessed cavity where a yellow-green gemstone has been set.
The gem is Elliptical in shape, has a domed surface and is detailed with a
milky white band that runs through the centre, creating a striking
resemblance to a cat's eye.   When viewed in candle light the colour of the
gem shimmers and changes to a deep pinkish purple.
