Item description:

It is small, about half a thumb in length and width, and seems to be a
collection of slash marks and a few dots.  The thing is thin and
sticky, handling it is a chore as it seems to want to bind with your
skin every time you touch it.  It's color is that of a dark forboding
red, as it never ceases to drip blood.
