Item description:

A deeply dished round shield measuring just over three feet in diameter and
constructed from solid wood from the willow tree and plated in gold to
indicate the high status of the wielder. The shield is worn by passing the
arm through a central strap on the inside and gripping the antilabe near
the edge. This affords the wearer a great deal of manoeuvrability and
dexterity whilst leaving the other arm entirely free to wield a weapon. The
gold on the front of the shield is ornately engraved with a triple
concentric circle pattern and has been polished to almost a mirror shine.
