Item description:

These pauldrons are fashioned from four rounded plates of white gold. Each
consists of a pair of the plates hinged together like a clam shell, except
the rounded and concave surfaces are both facing up. When worn, the topmost
plate sticks up, providing some protection for the sides of the wearer's
head.
