One day the great warrior mage, ManiacMatium, went camping with his buddies
near the newbie forest.  The next day, the Matium awoke and found his beloved
blue jeans missing.  No trace of the pants could be found near the campsite:
no  tracks, no auras.  The greatest mages in the land were summoned to locate
the pants, and the most experienced trackers and woodsmen went on the alert,
but to no avail.  The pants simply vanished from all reckoning.  But now you
have found them, the Lost Pants of the Matium!  They have been heavily
modified, however, to serve as a headdress.  Strange earthen runes decorate
the legs, and beads and feathers applently are strapped onto it from various
angles, but you could still wear them as pants, if you wanted to.
