Item description:

These boots are made from thick glass plates. Through some clever trick of
design, light is bent around the glass, so that when something is place
inside of the armor, such as a foot, it fades to a gauzy, blurry smudge
that is difficult to see. The glass is not very strong, but it is thick and
heavy, lending power to the wearer's blows.
