Item description:

It is a large, eliptoid green scale, with one of the short sides slightly
longer than the other. It glows with an inner light, perhaps due to some
magical anomaly of the creature from which it came. The edges are totally
smoothe, as if the scale was a piece of a puzzle. When turned so that the
shortest side faces away from you, a small groove on the top right is
barely noticeable, perhaps as a place to insert a thin wire or needle.
