If you are reading this it means that I never returned from the
minotaur's maze. My name is Albacus and I am a wanderer and explorer.

I recently heard an old wive's tale about a maze somewhere in the
Kordwood.

While sitting in the Happy Clam one night I  was told that deep in the
Kordwood on the island of Kordan there was a hidden area known as the
maze of the black minotaur. One person had said that many have searched
for it and never found it, while others say they found it and were barely
able to escape it. These people talk of a mischievous fey that wanders
the Kordwood and for a price will bring explorers to the entrance of the
maze.

They went on to say that large, mythical creatures roam about the dark
passages attacking anyone or anything they encounter. At the bottom of
the maze is said to be a black minotaur known as Branksan. Who has an
open challenge to any to come and try to defeat him and his horde of
treasure can be theirs. They go on to say he has collected many treasures
over the years from various warriors, rogues, explorers, mages, clerics
or other people  that had fallen to his hands. Surely other items might
have been collected over the years by his various minions roaming about
the passages above.

I'm going to leave this diary with the owner of this fine establishment,
in case I don't return from my quest.
