Measuring just over six inches in length and tapering from a diameter of a
quarter of an inch at one end down to an almost invisible needle like tip,
this spine appears to have come from an extremely large animal.  It is semi
translucent in appearance and whilst it looks to be made of bone or
cartilage, on closer inspection it appears to be composed from the same
matter that comprises hair.
