It is thought that several duergar master artisans forged this hammer of
jet black metal long ago as a kind of status symbol for their king. The
shaft has been made out of metal as well with the lower half wrapped in
animal hide. Both ends of the head are flat and engraved into its surface
are several runes that are said to shroud the wielder in darkness.
