This sheath is somewhat generic in make, having no special curvature or
extra devices attached.  It does not, however, appear that holding a sword
was all that it is good for.  Along the scabbard are runes, and as you study
them they seem to translate themselves easily.  Oddly, the runes seem to
praise the sun and both protect against it at the same time.  Whether you
understand the runes because of your magical knowledge or because the runes
themselves wanted you to understand them, you cannot tell for sure.  But
from your simple understanding you gather that the sword contained herein
is rather valuable and powerful, for such a sheath as this to be needed to
contain it.
