Item description:

The feathers are attached to what appears to be part of the body of what
was once the bird that wore these feathers.  Every time you put it on, you
are wearing the corpse of some poor dead bird.  But anyway, looking at the
feathers, you notice that they aren't normal.  The patterns are all wrong,
the angles funny, the texture too slick in some places and too rough in
others.  These feathers are also quite tough, with a lot of bone content. 
It is almost as if the species that grew these did it as a defense against
some non-natural phenomenon, such as intense heat and fire.
