Item description:

This is a cylinder of wood, roughly  20 inches deep and also about 20
inches in diameter. Across the top of the cylinder, the skin of some animal
or another has been scraped thin and stretched tightly over it, and then
laced into place. When the skin is hit or tapped, it creates a deep booming
sound that could carry fairly long distances. A leather strap has been
connected to the drum so it can be looped around the neck  to support the
drum while it is being played.
