Item description:

This map shows a coastline, an island, and a large X.  The coastline seems
to indicate a port city built near where a large river empties into the
sea. The ocean shore is north of the city, and the river mouth is to the
east.  The island lies directly north of the city, some distance in the
ocean.  The X is marked on the northwest shore of the island, apparently on
the beach.

Near the bottom of the map is the word "elborat?" scrawled in barely
legible graphite.
