- Shadowfax's work was too demanding around Christmas, and he no longer had time to plan and execute an event at that time of year.
- The Christmas events were too close to the annual Thanksgiving and Anniversary Events, so players became tired of events
- No events had previously been held during the summer. There was a long stretch between St. Patrick's Day and Halloween with no events.
- Many players are on summer vacation by the time of the solstice, so there is increased participation.

A new annual tradition was started by Shadowfax to start holding events in the
